The apartment we rented in Paris. We decided to visit the Parc Monceau, the Eiffel Tower, the Palais Royal areas during this day for our wedding photos with our Paris photographer - Daria Lorman. And to celebrate our elopement, we had champagne at the iconic Parisian cafe - Cafe Le Nemours.
Why did you have an intimate wedding?
We are both very private people and knew that an intimate wedding was the only way. We didn't want anything to take away from that moment and felt that intimate wedding would be perfect. We chose Paris as our destination as it is a city that we both love. The feeling we both get when we visit Paris is indescribable, we just feel like we are home.
What are some challenges that you faced planning it?
To be honest, there wasn't many challenges, the hardest decision was choosing the photographer. We had to make sure we had someone who understood us and made us feel comfortable on the day. That's exactly how we felt about Daria.
Was it difficult not to invite your friends and family with you?
At times, yes. There were moments which we would think "should we just invite our parents?" knowing how important our wedding day would be to them, but we had to remember why we were doing this and that it was important for us to have intimate and personal memories of our day.
Did you have any ‘issues’ with not inviting your friends and family? If so, how did you address them?
Not really, surprisingly most people understood why we were getting married with just the two of us.
What were the highlights of the day?
The whole day was amazing! We loved every bit!
What was the best thing about the day?
We both truly enjoyed walking around Paris being photographed, it was something we never do but really enjoyed! And I will never get over those photos - we love them so much!
What advice do you have for couples who are considering an intimate wedding?
Make sure you're doing it for the right reasons, we did it because we wanted our moment to be special to just us but it can upset people. If you stay strong and firm in your decision to have an intimate wedding, it will be easy.
